HOLOGRAMS

Thanks to the generous support of the MAP Fund, HLD’s creation of  intimate “movement portraits” was elevated to new heights with the creation of three holograms of three women, two disabled women Jen Bricker, Tiffany Geigel and Artistic Director Heidi Latsky.

In these holograms, each performer speaks and moves. These holographic representations add a dimension of depth and interactivity, blurring the lines between the physical and digital realms and inviting audiences to engage with the art in unprecedented and very private ways.

HLD’s holograms can be viewed on their own or as part of ON DISPLAY and D.I.S.P.L.A.Y.E.D.

Viewed with Magic Leap’s 3D virtual reality goggles, each audience member enters into a magical profound world.

“This holographic installation is special and mysterious. Only the person with the special glasses and computer rig is experiencing the performance that is happening, metaphors abound, we are all enclosed in our personal experience, emotions…life.”

-Visual Artist, Michael Davis

“The holograms have haunted me as well as the powerful films"

- Choreographer, Randy James

“It blew us away. The show (which included holograms and black and white films) was truly innovative -- the use of larger than life black and white holograms of Heidi's subjects is unlike anything we’d ever seen before. The show was inspiring and haunting, in equal parts: I think it would be impossible to see it and not have it stay with you long afterwards.”
